The Writer behind Writing the Right Stuff

Lana Christian, the founder and president of CreateWrite Inc., has spent most of her professional life writing, editing, proofing and producing medical, technical, instructional and marketing communications for a variety of audiences. Her ability to distill complex information into easily understandable concepts makes her in demand for many projects—from seven-figure grant proposals and peer-reviewed journal articles to numerous educational programs and DVD scripts. Lana’s clients include Eli Lilly & Company, Roche Diagnostics, Pfizer, National Federation of High School Sports, BASF, Monsanto and Microsoft, to name a few.

One of Lana’s passions is helping people write well. During her 12 years of working in the education department of a large health care conglomerate, Lana developed and taught scores of writing and communications classes, a semester-length course, self-paced cross-training programs and a now-patented self-paced career development program for staff at all levels. She also developed all the internal and external marketing campaigns to promote her department’s training programs. Positions prior to that included writing all the marketing and technical materials (including user manuals) for a startup software development company, and writing/giving chemistry and hematology lectures to student interns at another hospital. In short, virtually all the positions she’s held in the past 20+ years have involved writing and teaching.

Lana works extensively with print, web and audiovisual venues, all of which span the gamut of marketing, technical, educational and scientific writing.

Lana’s mantra, regardless of what type of writing she does, is “Tell the story.”

Knowing that people often stumble in the last step of the writing process, Lana recently published Proofread like a Pro, an offshoot of her many years of practical experience.
